Breeland, whose recent solo album “Panda” topped the Billboard 200, made the shortlist for SXSW 2016’s inaugural SXSW Hall of Fame inductee.
In a press release, SXSW organizers said they were excited to honor Breeland for her “unbelievable talents” and her work “to make music in her spare time while taking care of her young family.”
The Hall of Famer, whose real name is Brooke Lohse, first made an impression on the music world with her 2006 debut album, “Puppies in the House.”
It’s now been released on a deluxe vinyl set and is available as a digital download.
Breeland spoke at SXSW last year, and the event has featured an extensive line-up of speakers.
SXSW 2017 will also see a number of SXSW performers at its main festival.
It’s set for July 22-26 in Austin, Texas.
